Our slope managers pulled out all the stops to ensure that Odi had the perfect race training conditions on his doorstep. The following weekend, our brand ambassador thanked us by claiming his ninth Giant Slalom victory in a row at the World Cup in Bansko.
Marco Odermatt's World Cup preparation is just one of many examples of how we at Titlis Cableways are involved in various partnerships with athletes, associations and institutions to promote skiing. In this way, we intend to play our part in helping to develop regional talents.
The kind of young talents that Marco Odermatt and Michelle Gisin – also a Titlis brand ambassador – once were. Both attended the Schweizerische Sportmittelschule Engelberg SSE (Swiss Sport School in Engelberg), which we have been a sponsoring partner of since 1996, and which has produced a large number of successful sportsmen and women. And it's no wonder, says Michelle Gisin today:
To be a brand ambassador for Titlis fills me with pride. We work closely with various ski associations and ski clubs in the region who benefit from attractive special rates on Titlis and can expect excellent conditions from October to March – our efficient snowmaking machines create the basis for the popular training base camp.
We also support the valuable work of the Stiftung Passion Schneesport (Passion Snow Sports Foundation) and the Zentralschweizer Schneesport Verbands ZSSV, who do an excellent job of promoting young talent and whose services play an important role in awakening interest in snow sports among the younger generation.
With the support of ski clubs, associations and institutions as well as personal sponsoring partnerships, we are investing in the future of skiing in Central Switzerland and helping young sportsmen and women to realize their dreams and achieve their goals. The next Michelles and Marcos are already waiting at the start gate!
