Since 14 December, Trubsee has once again become the mecca for e-snowmobile riders in Switzerland. On a designated racetrack, you can glide almost silently through the SnowXpark on battery-powered snowmobiles at speeds of up to 40 km/h.
New this year, two additional electric vehicles are now permanently available after successfully impressing both guests and operators during test runs in recent years. First, the Moonbike, the world’s first electric snowbike, where you can test your riding skills and balance. Second, the Bobsla, an innovative snow vehicle with two independently driven tracks, which has its own dedicated course featuring various obstacles.
For 79 francs, visitors can try out all three vehicles during a one-hour session, with 10 minutes per vehicle. With this new concept, the operators aim to share their passion for electric mobility on snow with as many guests as possible.
"In the past, guests could only ride traditional snowmobiles here," explains park manager Erik Marcusson. "Now, they have the chance to test all three types of vehicles, offering more variety and fun." At the same time, this setup eases the charging infrastructure at SnowXpark, as 10 vehicles are now in continuous use instead of 6. "Our offer is unique, not just in Switzerland, but worldwide," says Marcusson.
Last year, the park achieved a record-breaking revenue, Marcusson reports. "Around 6,000 visitors came to our park between December and April." There’s good reason to believe that number will grow even further this season. "75% of our guests visit us without ski equipment," says Marcusson. "They travel from all over Switzerland just to experience this thrill."
This popularity is also due to strict regulations: in Switzerland, the private use of tracked vehicles on snow is generally prohibited. But at Trubsee, not only is it allowed—it’s guaranteed fun!
The e-snowmobile is available for riders aged 12 and up, while the Moonbike and Bobsla require a minimum age of 16—and you can ride them in any weather.
"In spring, riding becomes more challenging due to heavier snow and higher temperatures," Marcusson explains. "And in heavy rain, the electronics can be affected. But under normal conditions, we're open no matter the weather!"
The packages that combine a visit to SnowXpark with dinner at Berghotel Trübsee, an aperitif, or a fondue experience in an igloo are particularly popular. The perfect gift for action enthusiasts – and an insider tip for the next team outing, an unforgettable bachelor party weekend, or an adrenaline-filled birthday celebration. "The largest group we’ve ever had in the park was around 200 people," says Marcusson with a laugh. "We always find a solution."
