Buying your ski pass online before your day on the slopes has several advantages.
Firstly, you benefit from lower prices: the earlier you buy your ski pass, the lower the price. This is based on various factors such as the day of the week, weather forecast and demand.
Secondly, you save valuable time on site. After purchasing online, you will receive a QR code that you can use to conveniently pick up your ski pass at one of the collection boxes at the valley station – without having to queue or wait for long periods of time.

During the week, the journey to Engelberg is usually relaxed and free of traffic. However, on sunny winter weekends with good snow conditions, traffic can be heavier depending on the time of day.
In this case, it is worth either arriving early or deliberately avoiding rush hour. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and arrive later in the morning. This saves you time and allows you to board the cable car quickly at the valley station.
Traveling by public transport is generally straightforward. However, please note that trains are often very busy between 7 and 9 a.m. on nice weekends.

What are the visibility conditions like? How much snow is there at the moment? And what are the road conditions like?
It's always worth checking the current weather and snow conditions – both for your journey and for choosing the right clothing and equipment.
In addition to popular weather apps such as MeteoSchweiz or SRF Meteo, we recommend taking a look at our webcams. They give you a realistic impression of the current weather conditions in the ski resort.
The parking guidance system in Engelberg shows you where there are currently free parking spaces available when you arrive. There are over 1,000 parking spaces available at the TITLIS cable car valley station. If these are already full, you can use alternative parking spaces in the village and take the free shuttle bus to the valley station.
Convenient: if you park at the TITLIS valley station, you can easily pay for your parking ticket at the end of the day via QR code – with a credit card or TWINT. This means you don't have to queue at the parking ticket machine.

No more seats or long lines at the self-service counter? With a little planning, this can be easily avoided.
If you hit the slopes early, you can enjoy an early lunch. Alternatively, you can enjoy a relaxed lunch break at your favorite restaurant from 2 p.m. onwards. Whichever option you choose, there is one positive side effect: while everyone else is eating, you have the slopes almost entirely to yourself at lunchtime.
Many restaurants in the area also offer the option of reserving a table in advance, so you can enjoy a relaxed meal at your preferred time.
To ensure you arrive home relaxed after a wonderful day in the snow, we recommend either setting off in good time or, if you don't want to go straight home after your last run, enjoying a leisurely end to the day. In this case, enjoy après-ski in the Chalet at the valley station with cool beats or round off your day with a fine meal in one of the restaurants in the village. If you leave later, you will usually benefit from free travel on the road.

The right clothing is crucial for an enjoyable day of skiing. Find out in advance about the expected temperatures and weather conditions in the area.
Warm ski socks, waterproof and windproof clothing and well-insulated gloves are highly recommended. A well-fitting helmet is essential and depending on your skiing style, a back protector may also be useful. If you feel the cold easily, heated socks or gloves are a good idea.
If you are traveling by car, it is also worth bringing a change of comfortable clothes with you. This way, you can slip into dry clothes for the journey home.

If you are traveling as a family or group with different skiing abilities, it is advisable to find out about the slopes in advance and agree on a meeting point.
While the higher elevations of the ski area mainly feature red slopes (exception: Jochpass – Engstlenalp), the Gerschnialp and Untertrübsee areas offer a selection of blue slopes. These are particularly suitable for children and beginners. Inexpensive sub area passes are also available for this area.
A successful day of skiing doesn't just start on the slopes, but already during the preparation phase. Planning your ski pass, travel, weather and meals in advance saves time, money, and stress. This leaves more room for the essentials: perfect turns in the snow, relaxing breaks, and unforgettable moments in the mountains.
