Sensible Weather Weather Guarantee
What is covered?
Your booked ski ticket (day or multi-day pass) is covered if the specified weather conditions are exceeded during your planned time on the mountain. Specifically, once a certain precipitation threshold is reached – 1.5 mm per hour or approximately 1 cm of snow between 08:00 and 17:00 – the Weather Guarantee applies. In this case, you will automatically receive a refund, but your ticket remains valid.
Costs
The cost of the Weather Guarantee for your ski ticket depends on several factors, including the date and the total value of your shopping cart. Typically, the price ranges between 8 and 12% of the total value, but it may be higher or lower depending on the factors mentioned. The Weather Guarantee can only be added in our webshop at the time of purchasing your ski ticket.
Weather Model
For the Weather Guarantee, Sensible Weather uses a blended forecast, combining different weather models to make the prediction as accurate as possible. The forecast is primarily based on the GFS model.
After purchasing your Weather Guarantee, you can view the current weather overview directly in the Sensible Weather platform and keep track of your experience at any time.
When will I receive my refund?
You will receive your refund once the defined weather conditions occur during your booked period or are forecasted at 07:00 in the morning:
- 1.5 mm/hour precipitation (rain or snow) for
- 1–4 hours on your ski day (duration defined at the time of purchase)
For the Weather Guarantee, the location of the mid station Trübsee is used as the reference point.
