We have received additional questions and feedback in the survey. We would like to address three concerns here and share some important information with you:
Slope Preparation & Snow Bumps
The slopes are usually prepared after the lifts close so that the snow can settle overnight. This process, called "sintern," helps make the slopes more stable the following morning. However, since slope conditions are heavily influenced by weather conditions, it is possible that the conditions may worsen after preparation (e.g., due to rising temperatures, wind-blown snow, or snowfall). In such cases, preparation may need to be adjusted or postponed until the morning. This means that the slopes can only be worked on by grooming machines in the morning. Without the overnight sintering, the slopes may be softer and become more challenging throughout the day.
Earlier Opening
We understand the desire for an earlier opening of the slopes, but for operational and safety reasons (such as slope inspection and avalanche control), this is unfortunately not possible. This winter season, we are offering three Early Bird events, just like in previous years, where the slopes will be accessible earlier – we hope this provides a fantastic experience!
Communication of Open Lifts and Slopes
We always aim to keep you informed and transparent about the open lifts and slopes. Overnight, all slopes are initially set to "closed / red" to allow for the morning slope inspection. The actual opening status of the slopes will be updated under "Open Lifts" as early as possible in the morning.
The expected lift openings (cable car facilities) will continue to be published on our website by 5.00 p.m. at the latest on the day before, taking the weather forecast into account.
It is very important to us to open as many lifts and slopes as possible every day – always within the defined operating times of each lift and with safety and operational conditions in mind. We ask for your understanding if external circumstances prevent us from making all lifts and slopes accessible every day.
